Hosan Vision: Shaping the Future of Agriculture with Autonomous Driving Technology

  • Development of the first tide gauge
  • Leading the domestic production of agricultural machinery

Hosan Vision Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Beom-ho), an agricultural machinery manufacturer, announced that it will begin full-scale sales of autonomous driving technology and products for rice transplanters and tractors.

Hosan Vision, the first company in Korea to develop and mass-produce a side-fertilizer in 2003, pioneered the localization of agricultural machinery, a market dominated by Japanese products. This device delivers fertilizer into the soil simultaneously with rice planting, increasing fertilizer efficiency by up to 80% and reducing variations in rice growth, resulting in improved yields and quality. Before localization, farmers had to rely entirely on Japanese products. However, Hosan Vision’s introduction brought about a significant shift in the domestic agricultural landscape, enabling rapid after-sales service and parts replacement.

Hosan Vision chose autonomous driving as a key technology to address the challenges of our time: the food crisis and the aging rural population. After three years of research and development, it began full-scale production and sales last year. The company’s autonomous driving technology enables automatic straight-line transplanting and can be easily installed on existing agricultural machinery, regardless of manufacturer. Furthermore, it was developed as a detachable autonomous driving kit that can be used with older machines, significantly reducing the burden on farmers.

Park Beom-ho, CEO of Hosan Vision, emphasized, “We will grow into a people-centered agricultural technology company and contribute to responding to the climate crisis and ensuring food security through autonomous driving technology.” He added, “Hosan will never forget its original intentions, always empathize with farmers, and ultimately expand into all areas related to rice.”

Hosan Vision aims to shed the “sales and disappearance” image of some small businesses by providing consistent after-sales service based on the trust built with dealers and farmers through its surveying and fertilization systems. Building on its “sense of mission and calling to the agricultural industry,” which it has maintained since its founding, the company plans to continue technological development and provide close on-site support.
